In July and August, HAP Schievliet will concentrate GP emergency care at night in Delft

GP posts Schievliet will move GP emergency care at night from the Vlietland in Schiedam to the other location in the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis in Delft in July and August 2025.

This means that the GP emergency post in Schiedam will be closed between 00:00 and 08:00 during these months. On Saturdays and Sundays, the emergency post will be open between 08:00 and 00:00 and in the evenings on weekdays between 17:00 and 00:00.

This measure is necessary to ensure the continuity of GP emergency care at night during the summer period.

Cause: staff shortage

Director-manager Mariëtte Glim of HAP Schievliet explains why the temporary night closure in the Vlietland is necessary. “We want to continue to offer our patients GP emergency care at night. We think that is really important. But in times of insufficient staff, this is a real challenge during the holiday period.”

The GP emergency post location Schiedam remains reachable by telephone on the usual number (010) 249 3939.

Any emergency consultations will take place in Delft. In the event of a medical emergency, a round will be made.
